Dr. Abilio Muñoz
is a Board Certified Family Practice Physician. He obtained his Bachelor
of Science in Biology at Baylor University. He then went to The University
of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Colorado where he graduated
in 1996. He then completed his residency at the University of Texas Health
Science Center in San Antonio. Currently he serves as a Clinical Assistant
Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Munoz was recently named the President of the Hispanic Physicians
Association in Austin.
Dr. Muñoz has been practicing in Austin since 1999. He opened his
private office in March 2003. This decision was based on his beliefs of
providing "quality care at a personal level". He did
not enjoy being a part of the high volume game that many of the
larger clinics often play.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Muñoz serves on the Board
of South Texas Ambulatory Research Network (STAR Net). He is a member
of the American Academy of Family Practice and Texas Medical Association.
Through his involvement with many professional organizations and the Health
Science Center, Dr. Muñoz stays on the frontline of current treatment
modalities, their efficacy and changes in the healthcare environment.
This in turn, helps his clients stay at the forefront of treatment options.
Dr. Muñoz is an active member of the Austin and surrounding communities
who enjoys working toward improving the health of all.
